Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) Group is one of the world’s leading Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) companies. Headquartered in Singapore, the firm operates in several markets in Asia Pacific through its subsidiaries and Joint Venture (JV) partners. The group is a pioneer in Asia when it comes implementing and espousing corporate sustainability practices in Asia. Singtel was the one of the first companies to commit to net zero emissions targets and align its decarbonisation pathway with the principles of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). It was also one of the first companies to adopt TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

In this interview, Aileen Tan Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) shares her perspectives on a wide range of topics including her personal journey as a sustainable consumer, the need to link organisational purpose with the sustainability mandate, Singtel sustainability evolution, and the group’s 2025 ESG goals and 2045 net zero commitments.
